Ergon Season Review 2025
At Ergon, we love and live bike sports. This is reflected in our products and the way we support individual athletes and teams. Once again, this year, our partner teams proved what's possible when their athletes rely on equipment that makes no compromises. Whether BIXS Performance Racing, Canyon CLLCTV, Mondraker Factory Racing, Speedcompany Racing, YT MOB, or Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto – wherever maximum performance mattered, Ergon wasn't just present, but a crucial building block for victories and titles. For us, Beyond Better isn't a tagline, but a lived reality – worldwide, across all disciplines, and on every course.
This is reflected one-to-one in the successes we achieved with our teams in 2025.

Vali Höll – Downhill without compromise
23-year-old Valentina Höll from Saalbach (AT) is currently simply the top performer in bike sports. In her fifth professional season in the elite women's category, she secured her fourth world championship title and her fourth overall World Cup victory. And that despite the fact that the season didn't go smoothly at first. Although Vali consistently achieved good results, she just couldn't seem to secure a World Cup victory.
It was only when it really mattered that Vali broke the deadlock. At the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Champéry (Switzerland), she delivered her strongest performance of the season and won the gold medal for the fourth time in a row. It was a close call, with a lead of just 0.667 seconds over two-time world champion Myriam Nicole, but on a track where she had struggled immensely last year. This shows the mental strength and racing consistency that the downhill queen, who competes for Austria, has developed. She demonstrated this once again in impressive fashion with her victory in the 2025 World Cup overall standings, turning what had been a difficult start to the season into a career highlight.
Full speed ahead into the spotlight
The Canyon CLLCTV downhill riders also shone in 2025. Leading the way were Henri Kiefer and Luca Shaw, who secured several podium places in the World Cup. By far the greatest success was achieved by 20-year-old Henri Kiefer. In only his second season in the elite men's category, the rising star sensationally secured the vice world championship title in Champéry, Switzerland, and his second German championship in Ilmenau. Luca took second place in the overall ranking, and CLLCTV ultimately came first in the overall team classification.
Canyon's cross-country team also made a successful return to the big stage. This was primarily thanks to 2016 Olympic champion Jenny Rissveds. The Swedish rider, who signed with the team for 2025, had a truly stellar season, winning the world championship title in cross-country and the European championship in short track. She also racked up a total of three World Cup victories in XCO and one in XCC, one of which will go down in the history books of the MTB World Cup. With a lead of 3:30 minutes in the World Cup final in Mont-Sainte-Anne, USA, the 31-year-old outclassed her competition – a margin that has never been seen before in the XCO Mountain Bike World Cup.
The World Cup title is followed by the European Championship
Even though she was unable to defend her world championship title in Hawaii, Laura Philipp had a very good competitive year in 2025. The exceptional German athlete once again confirmed her status as one of the most consistent long-distance triathletes in the world. With her victory at IRONMAN 70.3 in Kraichgau, the European championship title at IRONMAN in Hamburg, including a historic best time (8:03:13 hours), and her triumph at Challenge Roth, Laura made her mark both nationally and internationally. Her season was crowned with a strong third place at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua Kona – the most important competition in triathlon. Laura Philipp's 2025 season is thus exemplary of the Ergon promise: comfort is not a luxury – it is the basis for maximum performance. Ergonomics becomes a key factor, especially over distances of more than eight hours.
In keeping with the motto “One Season. Many Riders. Countless Podiums,” we would like to take this opportunity to thank our Ergon athletes and partner teams, who impressively demonstrated in 2025 that with unbridled passion, genuine team spirit, and smart ergonomics, you can master any challenge and achieve many victories.
That's why we've listed all the teams in detail here once again.
The Teams in Detail
BIXS Performance Racing (BPRT)
BIXS Performance Racing Team is the mountain bike racing team of Swiss brand BIXS. They compete for success in cross-country and marathon races at national and international levels. Not only were World Cup races highlights on the racing calendar, but the team also focused heavily on the UCI World Championship. In 2025, the roster consisted of experienced riders and young talents, including Marcel Guerrini, Joel Roth, Timon Rüegg, and Seraina Leugger. New additions included rising Swiss XC rider Luca Schätti.
Luca Schätti particularly stood out this year. The 25-year-old Swiss rider was frequently in the World Cup top ten and achieved an excellent 4th place at his home World Championship in Crans Montana. Marcel Guerrini and Ramona Forchini also had great success. The latter, for example, placed third at the XC World Cup in Leogang.

Canyon CLLCTV
Canyon CLLCTV is Canyon's MTB factory team. In 2025, the team fielded the largest squad in Canyon's history, focusing on gravity/downhill, enduro, and cross-country. With the signing of former Olympic champion Jenny Rissveds from Sweden, as well as other riders and young talents, the team aimed to play a strong role, particularly in the XC World Cup.
The plan paid off completely. Jenny had a truly stellar season, winning the World Championship title in cross-country and the European Championship in short track. In addition, she secured three World Cup victories in XCO and one in XCC, including one that went down in MTB World Cup history. With a 3:30-minute lead in the World Cup final in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, the 31-year-old decimated her competition – no one had ever won an XCO mountain bike World Cup with such a large margin before.
Canyon CLLCTV's downhill athletes also shined bright in 2025. Leading the charge were Henri Kiefer and Luca Shaw with multiple World Cup podiums. The by far greatest success went to just 20-year-old Henri Kiefer. The shooting star sensationally secured the Vice World Champion title in his second season among elite men in Champéry, Switzerland, along with his second German Championship in Ilmenau. Luca captured 2nd place in the overall ranking, and CLLCTV ultimately finished first in the overall team classification.

Mondraker Factory Racing (MFR)
2025 was only the second full season for the still-young downhill team from Spanish bike manufacturer Mondraker. After a strong 2024, this season saw Rónán Dunne shine particularly bright with two World Cup wins and three podium finishes.
Given the team's potential, MFR looks positively toward the future, as the Spanish squad has announced a significant expansion of its rider roster. In addition to existing riders like Rónán Dunne, Dakotah Norton, and Ryan Pinkerton, they added Veronika Widmann and Greg Williamson, among other young and promising talents.
With a healthy mix of experienced riders and fresh rookies, the team aims to build stability and develop talent in the medium term. This way, MFR DH hopes to achieve more podiums and victories at the World Cup in the future.

Speedcompany Racing (SCR)
Speedcompany Racing is a German two-man team made up of best friends Lukas Baum and Georg Egger, who have commanded great respect in the cross-country scene not just since their triumph at the 2022 Cape Epic, arguably the most prestigious MTB marathon stage race worldwide.
SCR is not a classic "World Cup XCO factory team" that races every World Cup – the focus is more on long distances, marathon events, stage races, gravel, and occasional XC/gravel events. Lukas and Georg don't primarily chase World Cup podiums; their focus is on versatility, adventure, and performance at long distances and on different terrains, which clearly distinguishes them from specialized XC pro teams.

YT MOB/Vali Höll:
The return of Vali Höll and the signing of Andreas Kolb in 2024 enormously boosted the reputation of the YT downhill team. With the combination of young talents and established riders like Höll and Kolb, YT MOB had a profile that was indeed very serious competition. Vali Höll has been celebrating success after success with Ergon since 2015.
Despite a noticeable victory drought at the start of the 2025 season, the 23-year-old from Saalbach stayed focused and consistently delivered top results. She landed on the podium at every race, just not at the very top – until it mattered most, and she crowned herself World Champion for the fourth consecutive time at the World Championship in Champéry. This demonstrates the now considerable mental strength and race consistency of the Austrian downhill athlete. With her victory in the 2025 overall standings, she impressively demonstrated this once again, turning an initially difficult season into a career highlight.

CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto (CSZ)
CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto is a professional women's road cycling team with UCI Women's WorldTeam status. For the 2025 season, the 18-rider roster around 2024 Tour de France Femmes winner Kasia Niewiadoma was reformed with some changes. New to the team were sprint-strong Italian Chiara Consonni and Danish all-rounder and climbing specialist Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig. Thus, the team covers a broad spectrum: Grand Tour riders, classics experts, sprinters, flat stage specialists, and newcomers – a very versatile team profile.
In 2025, the European cryptocurrency exchange "zondacrypto" was added as a new co-title sponsor. The goals remain the same: top performances at World Tour races, Grand Tours, and classic one-day races – with strength in versatility, team cohesion, and a balanced mix of experience and young talent.
Experienced team captain Kasia Niewiadoma also shaped the team's success this year, with 3rd place overall at the 2025 Tour de France Femmes. The squad once again proved it can compete with the best teams and riders in the world in Grand Tours. Polish rider Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka won in a dramatic photo finish at the Maryland Cycling Classic Women, securing an important victory outside the classic European races. Such successes show that the team isn't focused only on major races but also scores points at smaller events through tactics and teamwork. The 2025 season was thus an important year for consolidating the team under new sponsorship and with an ambitious lineup.

Laura Philipp / Triathlon
German exceptional athlete Laura Philipp experienced a season of superlatives and confirmed her role as one of the most consistent long-distance triathletes in the world. With victory at IRONMAN 70.3 in Kraichgau, the European Champion title at IRONMAN Hamburg, including a historic best time, and triumph at Challenge Roth, Laura made national and international statements. Her season was capped by a strong third-place finish at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona – the most important competition in triathlon.
Laura Philipp's 2025 season thus exemplifies the Ergon promise: comfort isn't a luxury – it's the foundation for maximum performance. Especially over distances of more than eight hours, ergonomics becomes a key factor.

Patrick Lange / Triathlon
For Patrick Lange, the 2025 season was a rollercoaster. The season started over the half-distance at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, but it didn't go according to plan, and health challenges forced him to cancel his start at IRONMAN Texas. Instead, the three-time Ironman World Champion focused consistently on preparing for his season highlights. At his home race in Frankfurt, Patrick fought through a challenging field and secured 7th place – a result that, especially given the tough conditions, demonstrates his experience and mental strength. The highlight was the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, where he finished 9th after a long, hard competition.

Overview of Most Used Ergon Products 2025
Übersicht der meistgenutzten Ergon Race-Produkte 2025:
By far the most-used Ergon products in races during the 2025 season were the GDH Team Grips, followed by the SM Downhill and SM Saddle.
Why Pros Choose Ergon
All Ergon products are perfectly tailored to their applications and thus as specialized for their disciplines as the athletes themselves.
For example, every functional zone of the GDH Team Grip is 100 percent tuned to the demands of hardcore downhill use, offering maximum possible relief, best vibration damping, and ultimate grip.
Our SM and SR saddles provide optimal pressure distribution in the genital and perineal areas for women and men, with gender-specific relief surfaces that do not additionally stress the sit bones and pubic bone.
Ergon is also ready to apply its expertise to special individual requirements. For example, Ergon slopestyle rider Bienve Aguero shreds hardcore freeride contests like Red Bull Rampage on a saddle that actually can't even be found in the Ergon portfolio. Rather, the saddle was developed as a one-off in direct collaboration with Bienve, because here the focus is on daring tricks, maximum bike control, and hard landings. This means a good slopestyle saddle is short, stable, grippy, abrasion-resistant, offers lots of control, and withstands brutal loads without interfering with trick execution. This clearly distinguishes it from our trail or enduro saddles.
Especially over long distances in triathlon, ergonomic efficiency is a decisive performance factor: our SR Tri saddles therefore offer optimal pressure distribution to reduce long-term stress in the aero position. Maximum relief over hours in the aerodynamic setup enables an ideal start to the run segment and can make the crucial minutes that determine victory or defeat.
Finally, all that remains is to wish all teams and athletes a good and relaxing off-season.
We're already looking forward to the 2026 season together...
