We developed the new GMS grips (formerly GA3) just for these moments. For more comfort on rough trails, for more support on longer rides and more control on the technical sections. The GMS’s ergonomic min-wing design supports your hands and wrists to relieve hand pain, pressure and finger numbness. This means more comfort and confidence to ride longer and harder with greater control. The new GMS is all about more riding fun.

Mountain biking places extra pressure and weight on the hands, wrists and arms. Long trail rides over roots, rocks and chunky terrain can cause pain and fatigue. Conventional non-ergonomic round grips concentrate this load onto a very small contact area of the hands.
The GMS does things better. Its ergonomically shaped mini-wing design increases the grips contact area for your palm to distribute pressure more evenly. This reduces pressure peaks and pain on your hands, relieves finger numbness and supports the wrists.

Ergon invented the ergonomic wing grip more than twenty years ago and we’ve taken that knowledge and applied it to the dirt with the GMS. We’ve made it softer and more grippy with an improved ergonomic mini-wing shape that meets the demands of modern trail, all-mountain, and e-MTB riders. The result: a grip that reduces hand pressure, supports your wrists and still provides the freedom of movement that demanding mountain biking requires.

Each area of your hand places different demands on a grip. Where your palm rests, cushioning and pressure distribution are key. Where your fingers grip, traction, security, and control are important.
That’s why the GMS has clearly defined functional zones:
- The top surface enhances comfort and cushioning.
- The underside surface maximizes traction and control.
- The thumb zone enhances natural movements on the handlebars.
Smart Texture Rhythm
The GMS’s surface uses a special textural pattern that enhances comfort and control for every part of the hand.
In the palm area, a more open structure allows for greater rubber flex and softness, resulting in comfortable cushioning. In the inner grip area, a solid, firmer structure delivers direct feedback and precise control—exactly where you need it.
Balance for More Fun on the Trail
Many MTB grips force you to choose between comfort and control. Comfort grips can restrict your hand movement, while non-ergonomic round grips offer great mobility but put more stress on your hands and wrists. The GMS eliminates this compromise by combining effective pressure relief and targeted wrist support with the responsive, direct trail feel of a modern MTB grip.
