The grip that goes Beyond.
Grips for more comfort, more support and more control.
When cycling, your hands support a large percentage of your upper body weight on the handlebars. This means there is constant pressure on the small contact area of the hand. Conventional round, or “imitation” ergonomic grips exacerbate this stess, especially on longer rides, leading to finger numbness, hand pain or wrist discomfort.
Ergon invented the wing shaped grip 20 years ago, and with it, created a whole new level of ergonomic comfort. The large contact surface area distributes pressure evenly, relieves pressure on sensitive nerve pathways, and ensures a significantly more comfortable grip.
Ergonomics Intelligence Begins in Koblenz, Germany.
At the Ergon Campus in Koblenz, interdisciplinary teams of sports scientists, industrial designers, and experts in materials, engineering, and manufacturing develop our ergonomic grip concepts. Every shape, every texture, and every detail is based on extensive studies, pressure measurements, and lab tests. Our designs are validated where it counts: in real-world use by touring cyclists, commuters, and adventurers over thousands of comfortable miles.
The hand is a highly sensitive and complex system. Numerous nerve pathways run through the wrist and are sensitive to pressure and improper stress. Unfavorable hand gripping positions—especially a wrist that is unsupported and bent too sharply—can irritate nerves and cause discomfort.
Irritation of the Ulnar Nerve
The ulnar nerve runs through the area of the little finger pad—a spot that is particularly susceptible to localized pressure. The larger contact surface of the wing grip design distributes pressure evenly, reduces stress on the ulnar nerve and greatly increases comfort.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
An overly bent wrist can narrow the carpal tunnel, putting pressure on the nerves and blood vessels.
The ergonomic wing shape supports the hand and automatically positions the wrist in a natural, straight position—providing long-term relief.
Functional Areas
Ergon grips are designed with distinct zones—each surface serves a specific function
- Finger area (grey): maximum grip for control
- Thumb area (white): reduced friction for easy shifting
- Palm area (black): cushioning, pressure distribution, and comfort
The Right Grip for Every Ride.
Every hand is unique—just like the individual demands of cycling. Whether commuting, touring, or fitness riding, different riding styles call for specific ergonomic solutions.
Our grip series are designed with anatomy, pressure points, and riding profiles in mind. The result: maximum comfort, optimal control, and a relaxed riding experience—even on the longest rides.

Perfectly contoured ergonomic wing shape for optimal pressure distribution—more comfort with less hand, wrist and arm fatigue on every ride.
GP3 Evo BioKork
The sustainable evolution with an integrated three-finger bar end. The natural BioKork material offers a pleasantly warm feel, excellent grip, and high comfort—even without gloves.
Integrated bar end for adjustable grip positions.
Greater control and improved power transfer.
Sustainable material for a natural riding experience.
Sport Meets Comfort: The GS Evo Series.
GS1 Evo
With more wing than a GA3 and a sportier feel than the GP series, the GS1 Evo is the ideal choice for active riders who ride with touring, commuting, fitness, and e-bikes.
Distinctive wing with anatomical support for even pressure distribution and support.
Ergonomically placed textured zones for maximum control and safety.
The Multi-Position Comfort Grip.
GT1
The GT1 enables dynamic gripping thanks to four intuitively adaptable hand positions. This not only reduces stress and strain on the hands and wrists but also allows changes to upper body posture—for greater comfort in the arms, shoulders and upper back.
Distinctive wing with anatomical support for even pressure distribution and support.
Unique thumb rest for additional hand positions and secure grip.
Purposely positioned textured zones for maximum control and safety.
Four intuitively adjustable grip positions
Wing grip position:
Maximum contact surface for optimal pressure distribution and relaxed wrists
Thumb-up position:
Ergonomic thumb rest for a secure grip and reduced strain
Outer grip position:
A bar-end-style grip for a more active riding style and reduced stress
Palm grip:
An additional grip option for greater versatility and comfort on long rides
