Kurt Refsnider
Kurt Refsnider is a professional mountain biker who relishes big, technical backcountry rides, whether that means a day or a month out on the trail. He's been at it for years, becoming the first to win each of the Triple Crown of Bikepacking events (Tour Divide, Colorado Trail Race, and Arizona Trail Race), the first rookie to win Alaska's Iditarod Trail 350, the first to thru-ride the new 5,000-mile-long Orogenesis Trail, and he's toured in mountain ranges all across the globe. He's also passionate about advocacy, stewardship, and education - he co-founded the Bikepacking Roots non-profit, is on the Protect Our Winters Athlete Alliance, mentors endurance athletes through his own UltraMTB coaching company, and was formerly a professor of geology. He resides in Prescott, Arizona, but he's typically away more than he's home.
