The saddle height, angle, fore/aft, setback and the saddle rotation can be optimized with the TF1 Bike Fitting Tool Saddle. Additionally, you’ll need a measuring tape, plumb bob and spirit level or one of Ergon’s comprehensive bike fitting sets. The measuring methods are standardized with the TF1 Tool, so results are repeatable and transferable to other bikes. Together with the accompanying instruction video even those without previous bike fitting experience can achieve an ergonomically optimized saddle adjustment.

Central reference point: BMR

The exact center of the saddle plays a key role in bike fitting. Due to the wide variety of saddle shapes and lengths on the market, this precise position is difficult to determine. The BMR (biomechanical reference) line – the point where the saddle is exactly 75 mm wide – standardizes its reference point and makes measuring and adjustment work repeatable. On most Ergon saddles, the BMR line is graphically marked on the saddle cover, making the tool easy to use. However, the template also makes it easy to locate and mark the exact BMR for the most other saddle brands.
