TP1 WAHOO SPEEDPLAY®

  • More efficient utilization of strength for greater performance
  • Better biomechanical movement for less discomfort
  • Less energy loss due to more direct power transmission
The entire pedaling energy applied when cycling is transferred to the pedal through our feet and shoes, which is what makes this contact point “cleat to foot” so important. In the interplay of all anatomical and mechanical components, the correct cleat-position under the sole plays a decisive role in the efficiency of the pedal stroke and, in the long term, for healthy biomechanics on the bike. The TP1 WAHOO SPEEDPLAY® is bespoke designed for this brand and helps you to optimize the positioning of the cleat in just a few steps, thus eliminating the need for lengthy trial and error. Many professional teams and bike fitting specialists around the world rely on the TP1’s precision and ease of use. The tool not only allows cleats to be optimized ergonomically, you can also their transfer position to new shoes. Both can prevent pressure points in the shoe, numb feet, knee pain and more.

Ergonomie

Efficiently directed Power

With every pedal stroke, forces are generated in the large muscles of the legs and transmitted to the pedals via the hips, knees and feet. The straighter all these anatomical components work on one level, the healthier and more efficient the overall movement. Positioning the foot exactly above the pedal axis plays a central role in keeping the leg axis as straight as possible.

Adjustment in two Planes

When positioning the foot on the pedal, there are two relevant parameters that are determined by attaching the TP1 WAHOO SPEEDPLAY®: longitudinal orientation and stance width. The two define the spatial position of the foot in relation to the pedal in the direction of travel and transverse to it.

Hand in Hand: Power and Comfort

Good, efficient power transfer from foot to pedal and comfort in cycling shoes are definitely not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, both are based on the correct positioning of the cleat. Having a correct setup eliminates the need for both reinforcing carbon inserts and additional dampening elements. The aim is always to come as close as possible to the natural power transmission of walking and running.

Avoid Problems at the Base

Incorrect fitting of cleats can have different consequences, from burning soles, pressure pain on the fifth ray (little toe), irritation of the hamstrings or pain in the ankle joints to loss of performance. With the TP1 WAHOO SPEEDPLAY® and the accompanying instructions, such spontaneous and gradual late effects can be avoided even by non-professionals - for sustainably healthy and efficient cycling.

Individually Customized No two Feet are the same

If there was a perfect cleat position for all feet at the same time, there would be no need for an aid like the TP1 or a bike fitting service. However, since the human anatomy is as different as the individual rider, every combination of foot, shoe and pedal should be individualized to avoid acute pain and long-term consequences.

Transfer Old to New Familiar Feeling even in new Cycling Shoes

If you have found your perfect individual setting and want to transfer it to a new pair of cycling shoes, it is difficult or even impossible to measure the offset and angle of the cleats on the old and new shoes with millimeter precision. Using the TP1 WAHOO SPEEDPLAY® as a template, the setup can be transferred from the old to the new shoes from both feet with highest precision, no additional readjustment necessary.
