Ergon's ergonomics specialists have reworked the design of women's saddles from the ground up and to the smallest detail. In cooperation with the world-class women racers of the CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto racing team and utilizing X-ray and CT scans along with cutting edge technologies, we’ve created the next generation of women’s ergonomic saddles. Countless prototypes combined with hundreds of hours of road and gravel testing by professional and amateur cyclists have gone into the development of this exceptional saddle – designed to make your ride beyond better.
Since women have a much more flexible pelvis than men and can tilt further forward, a saddle designed for female riders must provide targeted relief so no pressure is exerted on the sensitive genital area when riding allroad and gravel bikes. The SR Allroad Women alleviates pressure and pain thanks to the forward positioned relief opening and the Y-shaped saddle side flanks, which direct pressure onto the supportive sit bone area of the saddle.
For anatomical reasons the pubic symphysis, or the anterior cartilage connection between the two halves of the pelvis, is approximately 25% lower in women than in men. The angle between the pubic bones is also wider in women. These factors were paramount when developing the SR Allroad Comp Women to guarantee a natural fit and ergonomic relief.
Riding a saddle that’s not specifically designed for the female anatomy typically causes women cyclists unpleasant pressure and pain in the genital area. The SR Allroad Comp Women is specially designed to protect this sensitive area: The custom ergonomic relief opening prevents discomfort such as numbness and pain by effectively transferring seated pressure to the sit bones.
The pelvic bones (sit bones) diverge forward into a Y-shape, so an ergonomic saddle must support the sit bones comfortably in every seated position. If the saddle is too narrow or too wide for your personal sit bone width, it can lead to discomfort. To prevent this, Ergon offers the SR Allroad Women in two sizes, so that you fit perfectly and ride comfortably in the saddle.
If you ride a lot in cold wet weather, this protective insert – which weighs just seven grams and can be quickly clicked into the relief opening – offers you improved wind and splash protection without affecting the comfortable ergonomic features of the SR Allroad Comp Women.
With its compact design, the SR Allroad Women ensures a perfect balance of relief and freedom of movement. Whether you ride road or gravel, you won’t have to settle for any compromises with the SR Allroad Comp Women.
The low-friction surface and ergonomic shape of the SR Allroad Comp Women saddle offers demanding all-road and gravel cyclists the perfect combination of relief and performance and a comfortable carefree ride.
The SR Allroad Comp Women is equipped with an ergonomic padding made from Orthopedic Comfort Foam. The thickness and shape of the padding is perfectly designed to absorb shocks and vibrations on gravel rides without compromising performance on on-road rides.
Every gram counts, especially on fast rides. The super-light TiNox SL rails reduce the total weight of the SR Allroad Comp Women in size S/M to a super-light 240 grams (250 grams for size M/L).
The Biomechanical Reference Line (BMR line) on the SR Allroad Comp Women is marked for your convenience. The BMR line is the point at which the saddle is exactly 75 millimeters wide. The seat point (the point where the sit bones touch), is also oriented to this meridian. The BMR line is an important reference for the precise adjustment of saddle height, for/aft positioning and tilt. Our Fitting Box Road Expert also uses the BMR line as an important reference point.
The best construction, highest material quality, short supply chain and low waste production with an effective recycling path – these are the advantages of a saddle Made in Europe. Better for you and the environment!
