SRS Pro Men

  • Compact shape prevents pressure, pain and numbness
  • New Reactive Performance Foam padding
  • Made in Europe
The SRS Pro Men makes high-performance comfort more affordable: utilizing the same Reactive Performance Foam technology as our top model, along with ergonomic features like a wider leg radius for increased leg mobility and larger relief channel to relieve the sensitive male perineal area. The composite supportive shell of the SRS Pro rests on equally lightweight TiNox SL rails. With its excellent pressure distribution, effective relief of the male anatomy and increased inner thigh and leg mobility, the SRS is perfect for modern endurance road or gravel bikes and riders who prefer a more relaxed, upright body position. The slightly wider leg radius also contributes to reducing pressure and friction on the inner thighs for even more leg mobility and comfort.

Ergonomie

Targeted relief specifically for men

Intensive research lead Ergon’s development team to identify the saddle as the main cause of cycling discomfort for men. Contrary to what many cyclists think, the genitals themselves rarely experience discomfort as they can move to avoid seated pressure. Rather, it’s high pressure on the extremely sensitive perineal area that can lead to numbness. Even with its shorter length, the SRS Pro Men offers ideal relief for the male perineum. Using MRI and CT analyses, endless prototypes and thousands of test kilometers, Ergon has tailored the saddle specifically to the anatomy and needs of male road and gravel cyclists.

Special construction for men

Men have a less flexible pelvis than women and a reason why male cyclists generally sit more upright on the saddle, placing more pressure on the sit bones. Because of this, SRS Pro men’s saddle can be narrower in the transition area between the rear of the saddle and the saddle nose (Y-shape) with the relief channel positioned further back, providing more perineal relief and more leg freedom and space when pedaling. Because of the pelvic position close to the rear of the saddle, a ramp was completely omitted there – for maximum freedom of movement.

Men are different - we get it

Compared to the female anatomy, the pubic bones of men are much steeper. The pubic symphysis is also significantly higher. These anatomical differences were taken into consideration during the development of the SRS Pro Men, which makes its gender specific relief from pressure highly effective.

No pressure on sensitive areas

To protect the sensitive perineal area, pressure must be shifted precisely to the sit bones and parts of the pubic arch. The SRS Pro Men achieves this with a slightly curved and even relief surface that is perfectly adapted to the more upright male pelvis and offers the highest possible freedom of movement. Our new Reactive Performance Foam padding cushions and relieves pressure using the latest foam technology.

The right size for optimum comfort

The V-shaped pelvic bones need a generous contact surface area to support the sit bones comfortably in different riding positions. The shape and size of the saddle must match the rider's sit bone width for the ergonomic features to function effectively. Ergon offers the SRS Pro Men in two sizes for a better personalized fit and a comfortable ride.

SMART HIGH-TECH COMFORT Reactive Performance Foam cushions and supports

A high-tech performance/comfort foam: Ergon's new Reactive Performance Foam is softer yet supportive at the same time, with progressive damping and energy return. This means the support of the foam increases with compression, responding to vibrations and small impacts, yet prevents the pelvic sit bones from sinking too far, which would be painful and reduce pedaling efficiency. The high energy return of the foam actually assists the pelvis in returning to its original position during the pedaling cycle to help you feel fresher longer. The progressive damping and ergonomic compact shape also ensure an even distribution of pressure on the saddle for a comfortable ride mile after mile.

COMPACT ERGONOMIC SHAPE Enhanced space for thighs – less pedaling friction and reduced pressure

The SRS Pro Men’s compact ergonomic shape, pressure relieving surface and wider inner leg radius has been designed for the more relaxed riding position used on modern endurance road bikes. This reduces saddle edge pressure on the inner thigh for less pedaling friction, more leg mobility, and increased blood circulation. The position and shape of the relief channel have also been optimized for the saddle’s compact shape. Although shorter in length, the SRS Pro Men offers maximum relief in in the perineal and genital area with an ergonomically optimized surface designed to evenly distribute pressure for enhanced comfort and support and more legroom when pedaling. Additionally, it prevents nerves aside the saddle from receiving too much pressure, which may cause cold or numb feet.

RELIEF CHANNEL: EFFECTIVE PRESSURE RELIEF No pressure or numbness

The compact shape of the SRS Pro required the relief channel to be redesigned and repositioned. An upright endurance position puts more weight further back on the saddle, which is why the relief channel is deeper and extends more towards the rear for increased relief in the sensitive perineal area. Our research has proven this is where painful pressure points can develop for men. By enlarging the relief channel, the rider's weight is transferred to the supporting sit bones of the pelvis. The relief channel gently tapers towards the edges and saddle nose and in combination with the Reactive Performance Foam minimizes pressure in the perineum and soft tissue areas.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND SUPPORTIVE Lightweight TiNox SL Rails

The TiNox SL rails on the SRS Pro Men have significantly thinner walls than Ergon's standard models with equal durability. The high-quality rails save additional weight at a high center of gravity – not only making your bike lighter overall, but also improving its handling.

MOST PRECISE SADDLE FITTING The BMR line helps you find the best saddle position

The biomechanical reference line (BMR line) is marked on the SRS Pro Men for convenience when installing or adjusting the saddle position. The BMR line is the point at which the saddle is exactly 75 millimeters wide. Once a rider has found the optimal seating position or during a bike fitting process, the BMR line becomes an important reference for the precise adjustment of saddle height, setback and angle. Our Fitting Box Road/Gravel also uses the BMR line as an important reference point.
