Irritation and pain in the palms and wrists, numbness in the fingers, discomfort in the forearms and upper arms as well as in the neck and shoulders – these are all common symptoms when cycling. They are often caused by unergonomic grips that distribute the pressure incorrectly and could lead to permanent misalignments. The resulting discomfort and pain can even lead to more serious hand or wrist injury. That's why you should trust the market leader. The Ergon GP2 Evo provides effective relief and guarantees pain-free riding pleasure.
The integrated two-finger bar end of the GP2 Evo provides an alternative grip position relieving the entire upper body. The bar ends are completely rubberized offering comfortable dampening for greater riding comfort, while the ergonomic shape ensures homogeneous pressure distribution.
The hands are exposed to high pressure when cycling, as a large part of the upper body weight rests on the relatively small surface of the grip. This often pinches the very sensitive ulnar nerve leading to unpleasant feelings of numbness during and after the ride. The GP2 Evo is equipped with an with an ergonomic wing which distributes pressure over a larger surface area than common round grips, effectively preventing discomfort.
A bent wrist applies pressure on tendons, blood vessels and nerves, which can lead to a compression of the carpal tunnel and damage to the median nerve. This results in pain, numb fingers or more serious injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome. The ergonomic wing of the GP2 Evo straightens the wrist position, relieving any pressure and noticeably increasing your riding comfort.
Grip size is very important when it comes to preventing hand discomfort. Grips that are too small or too large can have a negative impact on pressure distribution. Therefore, the GP2 Evo is available in two sizes to provide the right grip width for every hand size - for more comfort, the best ergonomic relief and improved bike control.
The ergonomic two-finger bar end of the GP2 Evo enables a quick and comfortable change of hand positions. This provides relief on long rides and increases control and power transmission, for example on inclines or uneven terrain. The bar end angle can be adjusted independently of the grip, enabling customized performance for every rider. The integrated, durable aluminum clamp makes installation a breeze, it clamps the handle and bar end to the handlebars with just one screw.
The inner core plays an essential role in performance and comfort. The GP2 Evo’s glass fiber-reinforced inner core provides effective vibration damping and more support to improve control in demanding situations.
The modern surfaces of the new GP2 Evo have been meticulously customized to meet the complex requirements for perfect grip comfort. The precisely lasered textures ensure a secure grip in all conditions.
For more than 20 years, the Ergon GP1 has been the benchmark for wing grips. The GP2 Evo is based on the redesign of this award-winning grip, which has been proven by millions of hands. The GP1 Evo and GP2 Evo are the ultimate evolution of the originals: improved function, made from the highest quality materials and a pioneering production process make these grips a true comfort milestone.
The GP2 is available in special versions for different gear shifting systems. Both grips are the same length for regular shifting. Gripshift and Dual-Twist-Shift versions consist of two shortened grips. Rohloff, Nexus and Single-Twist-Shift only the right-hand side grip has been shortened.
The shortened Gripshift versions are classic GP2 models.
