Sally has won just about every event you can win, but there is still a big goal to achieve—the rainbow jersey at the Marathon World Championship. This goal sits at the top of her list every season. She is one of the toughest females in the sport—someone who wins the Swiss Epic with a cracked femur, rightfully owns the nickname, Iron Sally.
“I can’t imagine a life without a bike.“
When Sally came to the Topeak-Ergon Racing Team in 2009, she was considered the most successful female mountain biker in the UK—she is now one of the best female riders in the world. The Brit dominates her female marathon competition and races from one victory to another, no matter if she rides with various partners or as an individual.
Fun and love of the sport rank as the most important for her. “Success arrives on its own with hard training and mental strength,” says the marathon specialist. This is evident in her results. Even though Sally only came into the sport of mountain biking in 2006, she achieved British Champion within two years and continues to reach the top step of the podium.
